Shore Road Park: It’s My Park Day

The Shore Road Parks Conservancy invites volunteers to join us in beautifying our Bay Ridge parks. Activities include painting, planting, weeding, sweeping, raking and handling sign-in sheets, tools and refreshments. First Church of the Brethren and its summer workcamps have been helping at this park for two years.
A Day on the Farm: Saturday, October 22, 2011
For youth grades 6 to 12 (if we have room grades 3 to 5), Your A. Mack teens youth group of the First Church of the Brethren is planning a day trip to the farm on October 22, 2011. Youth need to be at the church Saturday morning at 8:30 am with $10 and permission form signed by a parent / guardian and the youth. Youth will be traveling to and from the farm in vans with licensed drivers. Youth will return to the church around 5:00 pm. See pastor Jonathan if you would like to help coordinate this activity.
At Fall Festival we will:
Carve a pumpkin
Bob for apples
Play games for all ages
Share gingerbread & apple
Have a great time in fellowship and please no costumes since we don’t need to be scared of Jesus. Bring finger food, a desert or snack. see pastor Jonathan if you would like to help coordinate this activity. Each person attending is asked to please bring one can or box (no glass) of food to be given to the bay ridge community food pantry. Items will be given to needy families in the Bay Ridge and Sunset Park area. Food pantries are bare this time of year.
